Plaza Tower
October 23rd, 2006
This is the Plaza Tower in Costa Mesa just behind Segerstrom Concert Hall from this post. This building was designed by the same architect that designed Segerstrom Concert Hall.
I posted the back side of the building because a security guard stopped me from taking a picture of the front side.

They wouldn’t let you take a picture? Wow!

Nice picture. Nice angle. This is the second post here today about security guards stoping people from taking photos. If you are on public property, you can take a picture of any business. Basically, if a business does not want you to take pictures from public property, they need to erect a wall. Last sunday I was taking a picture of the General Motors factory in our town. I was across the street on a public sidewalk. A security vehicle screeched to a stop in front of me. The security guard jumped out the car and menacingly said I was not allowed to take photos. I said that I was on public property. He said he would arrest me. I told him he was out of line as I was on public property. He demanded my name. I told him to call the police and we would settle the matter. He backed down and got back in his car and sped away after taking down my license plate number, which I guess he was entitled to do.

Welcome back to the daily photo scene. Very nice lighting on this building with a flash of gold…

Thanks for the comments.
Robert - I was actually on their property right in front of the lobby. It probably didn’t help that I parked right in front of the door. I took this shot from another parking lot but the front is pretty nice. I may try again this time from a parking structure.
