Orange County California

The seal of Orange County seems to sum up Southern California.
Oranges, produce fields and snow capped mountains.

Except we have hardly any orange groves left. Not in Orange County anyway.

1. Whenever I think of California and oranges, I think of the movie Chinatown.
2. If you go to Disney California Adventure and go on the California Soaring ride, at one point you “fly” over orange groves and they release an orange scent in the air. It’s good. Closest thing to virtual reality I’ve experienced.

The OC ! A name my three kids know all too well because the series they watched faithfully last season. The OC tee-shirst and parnaphenelia were all the rage. They drew tired of it though and no longer watch it. Guess who’s happy ?
Nice for me to think of the OC in a different way, with oranges and snow capped mountains. I enjoy the change !!!

Thanks for the comments.
James - Yeah not that many orange groves left here but there are a few. I will get a shot up soon.
Sally - I need to go to California Adventure and try and smell the oranges.
Nathalie - The TV show the OC has some reality but most of Orange County is middle class and pretty normal.
Newport Beach the area where the TV show the OC is based on is a really affluent part of the OC.
I don’t know if Laguna Beach the real “OC” is showing on MTV in Australia but that show is pretty realistic. Of course, the some of the drama seems scripted. Watch out for it your kids may get hooked.
